Agency Work
Shipped campaign microsites, interactive brand experiences, and product prototypes for advertising clients.
What the engagement looked like.
Four years of agency work across twenty-plus client projects — campaign microsites, interactive brand experiences, product prototypes. Budgets varied, but the constraint was the same: a pitch deck on Monday, something on a URL by Friday, and a bar for craft that didn’t drop just because the timeline was tight.
The problem on arrival.
Campaign work lives in a strange band between pitch fiction and production reality. Clients buy the big motion idea; engineering has to make the big motion idea survive a real browser on a real laptop. The gap is where most agency builds collapse.
Ownership of a project rotated by project — sometimes creative direction sat with me, sometimes art direction, sometimes just the build. The role shifted per engagement; the output bar didn’t.
How it came together.
3 phases, each one trying to prove a single thing before the next could start.
- Year 1–2Craft bar
Earned the range of the role by doing each part in turn — engineer, art director, motion prototyper. Learned where the handoffs hurt and where they saved time.
- Year 2–3Novel interactions
The interesting pitches always needed something that wasn’t a library. Built them anyway — WebGL, canvas, scroll-tied video — and kept enough of the rig around to reuse the next time.
- Year 3–4Pitch to prod
Turned recurring clients into longer engagements. Campaign prototypes became real product surfaces; motion work that started as pitch fiction shipped to real customers.
What shipped.
Twenty-plus campaigns over four years, across a mix of consumer brands. The motion and interaction work grew enough vocabulary to carry forward — it’s the same craft bar showing up in everything I’ve built since.
